Randy Schlager
Randy joined the elite team of Creative Music Consultants at DMX over ten years ago, specializing in international and domestic dance, pop and alternative music programming. Randy is a classically trained pianist who started his radio and music career at the age of sixteen. He has a degree in Audio/Video Production with a Minor in Music. Shortly after graduating from college he began a DJ career in Seattle. Within six months he had his own residency at a leading club and within two years he was running the largest club in Seattle.
Along with his full-time responsibilities with DMX he also works as a club DJ at one of Seattle's largest, longest running, most successful nightclubs on weekends. He has held a club residency for more than twenty years. Randy produces a weekly dance-mix show, POWERMIX, which has aired on KNHC 89.5 FM since 1993 making it the first and longest running show of it's kind in North America. Randy represents the Northwest as a Billboard Magazine Reporter and tastemaker, a position he has held for more than seventeen years.
Randy has received the award of West Coast DJ of the year by DMA Magazine, and the Seattle Weekly, and has been interviewed by the Austin American-Statesman, Chicago Tribune, Billboard, FMQB, and other media regarding his work with DMX.
Randy has designed and implemented the “Sound” for Abercrombie & Fitch, Limited brands, (The Limited and Bath & Body Works), Tommy Hilfiger Specialty, Pacific Sunwear, Anchor Blue/Millers Outpost, Footlocker, Equinox, Champps, and Macys/Burdines Juniors/Latin Juniors, along with developing our ‘dance’, ‘urban’, and ‘Glow’ concepts. He regularly attends the Winter Music Conference and M3 Summit in South Florida, the largest gathering of music professionals in America, joining leading Programmers from around the globe, holding panel discussions on new music and music trends. He works closely within the music industry networking each week with various Promoters, Artists, Producers, and Remixers.
Randy enjoys mentoring future talent and he devotes his free time to teaching youth the various aspects of DJ’ing and Creative Music Consulting.
