Janice Williams

Janice Williams can remember exact moments when she heard the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elton John, and Willie Nelson and changed her worldview and her future. Changing from a career as a journalist and writer, she decided that she wanted to be in radio where she could hear the newest music and her favorite songs on a daily basis.

A radio career in Top 40, country, and adult contemporary followed, interspersed with jobs as a public speaker, a writer, a booking agent, a traffic reporter, and more. But the record collection, then CD collection, then iTunes library grew and her knowledge and love of music expanded exponentially.

Marrying a drummer exposed her to new artists and the world of the blues (only in the musical sense). She even learned how to play the accordion and attempted to create music herself. And, yes, she knows every accordion joke that has been told.

A move to the Live Music Capital of the World - Austin, Texas - brought Janice in contact with an entire culture of people who live and breathe music. After 10 years in Austin playing music on the radio, booking bands, going to hear live music, writing about music, and playing the accordion, Janice found herself at DMX music where her passion fills her day with choosing the music for a variety of styles of music, including her newest loves:  gospel and bluegrass. She considers it her mission to delight a listener with old favorites and new sounds.
